How do scholarships work if you dont redshirt?

Do you get 5 years paid even though in your final year of school you are dead to the athletics program.

Or do you only get scholly for when you are in the program.

Yes I was talking to a coach and he said when kids were deciding if they want to redshirt or not that one of them said paraphrased. "Coach I really would like have 5 years of school paid for though so he could get his degree paid for" The player was told that they still get all 5 years paid for.

As for the Masters I don't know but I do know that someone on the football team is going for there masters this year but I don't recall who or how long he was in the program. I would guess that the masters would be paid if they we to have been able to get the bachelors in 4 years. By no means did any of this come from the NCAA handbook

I was watching the Wisconsin state championships yesterday on tv. Two of the games caught my eye as one recruit Coultan Heagle of Kimberly had verbaled to the Bison and one was on our interest list Cameron Botticelli of Marquette. I was so impressed with Botticelli I looked at his wissports profile. It indicates that he has verbaled to Illinois State. I'm sad he looked great.

Anybody care to evaluate what positions we still need to target?

Sounds like 22 scholarships available. 12 verbals already.

Anyone have any thoughts?

I think based on the rivals reviews I have done, it looks like Linebacker, Corner, Offensive Line are our main targets. Looks like a few QB's still have alot of NDSU interest. Also looks like Arizona has more of a presense this year. I predict Nebraska to send us a few kids this year. We typically have been getting about 1 per class. Looks like alot more showing interest this year.

It is a fun time of the year...especially when you are 3-8 and begging for anything positive. I have no clue how other schools can poke fun at us having 12 verbals already. They are mentioning it like it is some type of a negative. It may be if we only had 12 to give...but we have 10 left. We got some great early talent to verbal.

I think we need to get some transfers or jucos at LB, CB, OL and possibly a WR.

anyone else agree we need some Jucos or Transfers to give us experience?
