The opinion of a banker, rancher, Dr. or whatever are welcome, but it is his butt (Bohl) on the line.

Next time you have something come up in your business world, give one of the coaches a call, they mave an opinion or suggestion for you.
One big difference, Bohl isn't donating to my business. We as teammakers have every right to express our disappointment and frustration. Why the hell Bohl overlooked the most important position on the field is baffling. One reason I don't let it die is we had to go down to the wire just to get Dante. And there still seems to be no urgency to offer QB's. Just keep making excuses for Bohl and saying everything is going to be OK. Fool yourselves.

    SD,

Don't you know that Bohl is getting paid over $200,000/year but you can't critisize anything he does. You can only pat him on the back for 10-1 seasons and his strict discipline after having to dismiss players off the team all off season. You can do these things as many times as you would like for as long as you like but you can only post a negative comment one time if that. Anymore than that and you are posting it to frequently.

Now I don't agree or disagree with you but I am not going to jump down your throat cause of what you post. I'll just leave that to everyone else. I do think that the lack or recruiting a qb is and has been a problem as well and I don't know how many more seasons I can just say wait til next year.

I'm not defending Bohl, I agree in needing more QB recruits. I would've liked 1, even 2 more high school QBs recruited last year in addition to Jensen.

But, a little bit of perspective is in order:
    - The 2008 season, that really exposed issues at the QB position, had two unforeseen changes.
. Parsons would've been a senior QB had he not graduated early.
. Brecke was a junior QB when he left the team.
    - Jackson is a prime example as to why recruting a QB just for the sake for having a QB on the roster isn't good enough, he even lost the #2 spot.
    - The 2009 season, had Mohler not had his problems with the law we would've had a senior, a RFR, and a true FR at the QB position. Not ideal, but not as dire as the situation was prior to the signing of Perez.

You can never have enough depth at any position, especially the all important one, but we really did run into a bunch of bad luck there the last two seasons.

Parsons and Brekke were not viable options to start on a high caliber FCS team. Didn't Brekke transfer to DII or DIII and not ever play much there?

They maybe were not viable options but I often find it odd that we can't recruit a qb and we had two qb's leave in one off season when we had no depth at that spot.

That maybe be true, but it's very rare that you'd have the starter and back ups all at the same level (unless they all suck ha!). Also they both had multiple years of experience in the system. Honestly, I thought Brecke had as good a spring game as Mertens did in 2008, and if I'm not mistaken he had a broken finger on his throwing hand.

You are correct, you have the right to express your opinion on here. Teammakers is all about raising money for scholarships, nothing more. Being a Teammaker gets you preferential seating NOTHING ELSE.
