When asked on KFAN Radio's Paul Allen Show who stood out among the 12 players at Tuesday's tryout in Minneapolis, Saunders mentioned Michigan State's Goran Suton and Woodside.
"He has opened a lot of eyes around the league," Saunders said of Woodside, a 5-11 guard from Albert Lea, Minn. "No question, he has an opportunity in this league to make a team."
Woodside's tryout prompted at least a dozen NBA teams to call Bartelstein, wanting to line up tryouts. While Woodside is scheduled to tryout for the Chicago Bulls next week, Bartelstein said he is scheduling tryouts with Utah, Portland, Sacramento, Oklahoma City and Detroit.
"They were impressed with his overall game," Bartelstein said. "The like his ability to put down the shot, his ability to drive to the basket and his ability to create."
