speaking as an outsider with no allegiance to either the U of M or ndsu there is one thing that you folks from the ndsu fighting sue need to get through your stubborn, thick heads when you think about your little win now going on almost three seasons ago: your ALL-TIME greatest football team (not sure how long you have been playing football) beat the U of M's ALL-TIME worst team (in 127 years of playing football - since 1882!) by a measly 6pts! that is it.....nothing more! it was the perfect storm for your squad and the only reason you even won that day. let it go already! you would not have eaten their lunch in other game and you didn't eat their lunch in that game. do you seriously think appalachian state fans still talk about their win over michigan incessantly? no. they have moved on and you should too!

you are not anywhere near the equal of the Minnesota football program or any other big ten program and you never will be. you do not compete with the big ten for recruits those teams actually want. i know many of them and minnesota golden gopher fans don't give ndsu or any of your sports team a second thought, so please stop flattering yourself and pretending you are something special up there on the tundra. some of you are just plain delusional. it is laughable!

oh and i almost forgot.....go marquette!
I do agree NDSU isn't equal to a Big 10 football program, we don't have those kind of resources, but that doesn't mean we can't compete with some of them. Quite a few Big 10 teams have struggled with FCS opponents in the past few years.

And that was not NDSU's best team nor was it Minnesota's worst.
NDSU to the FBS always. In all ways.

you are making such a bold statement about where ndsu would "hypothetically fall" in the big ten football conference based off a sample of a couple years?! really? come on now! and based on that very small sample ndsu football has now arrived on the same level as the big ten?! wow! you are joking right? you have to be smarter than that.

and yes, 2007 was minnesota's worst squad in 127 years of playing college football. that is a FACT and is not up for debate. i have also heard in many places that 2007 was ndsu's best squad ever in terms of talent. so again your best team ever beat minnesota's worst team ever by a whole 6pts and the game was still in question until half way through the 4th quarter. big whoop! you guys really need to get over yourselves and come back to reality.

Not a fact, 1983 was the worst Minnesota team. That squad got worked repeatedly and lost 84-18 at home to Nebraska. At least the 2007 Gophers were competive in almost every game, their average margin of defeat was 13.1 points.

NDSU's best team was probably the 1986 team and I'll take the 2006 Bison over the 2007 version.

You also need to learn how to read. I said NDSU could compete, as in beat a Big 10 team, not be a Big 10 team. There is a huge difference between playing in the Big 10 and beating a Big 10 team. In the past three years 4 FCS teams have beaten Big 10 teams. Many other games went down to the wire. Only a few were blowouts, and in those games it was either an FCS vs Ohio State or some crap FCS team like Indiana State was playing a Big 10 team.

You are quite the simpleton. Once you've finished reading this post in a couple of months, just let me know and I'll be more than happy to post the game stats from the '06 game as well.
Anyone that watched those 2 games and has any iota of football intelligence knows that a lot more than just lunch was eaten on those 2 days.

No get this thread back to Recruiting. Does anyone heard anything? I know they offered Ryan Smith from Wahpeton. They must be looking at Esley Thornton of Bisamarck. That has to be the top athletes from North Dakota imo.

Yes I'd agree, if he was putting up good #'s against bigger competition.
