I know I've mentioned this before on B-Ville, but Jake Christensen was Steve Walker's backup as an underclassman at Lockport High School in Illinois. He has tremendous athletic ability and led his team to a repeat HS championship after Steve's team won it the previous year. BUT......his off the field problems at Iowa are well documented. But, perhaps he's grown up and wants to finish in college career on a positive note and just needs a place to do it.
When he came in and relieved Tate he did a great job. I was really impressed.
The next year he was making rookies mistakes and tried too hard to make things happen. But I figured he got his year of seasoning under his belt and Iowas O-line was terrible because of injuires.
This last year he was making the same rookie mistakes.
I just dont know about him because of past performance.
I know all about his HS stuff behind walker etc but that doesnt equate to anything on a bigger stage. Look at Mertens.
But like I said before--who knows---may be a different level of competition and coaching staff-system may prove beneficial for him.
But Ive seen him play alot and thats why Im gun shy on him.
