Northfield senior Cole Jirik acknowledged Friday after the Raiders' 31-12 victory over previously unbeaten Orono in the Class 4A state semifinals at the Metrodome that he had just played the best game of his career. The best news of all for Jirik was that he is going to be able to remember it.

By game's end, Jirik had three sacks, a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, a blocked field goal, a touchdown catch and 69 receiving yards.

Jirik (6-5, 225 with a 4.6-second 40) has scholarship offers from Western Michigan and North Dakota State. One has to wonder why some bigger schools haven't come calling. Perhaps that will change after Friday.

Sullivan has heard through the grapevine that recruiters have labeled him as being "a little light."

Jirik said he hopes to hear from some other schools. Sullivan knows this: Jirik is a football player.

"He's going to help somebody's program," Sullivan said.

He would be a great player for the Bison. 225.....that is what the weight room is for!

Plus, we aren't exactly recruiting against other conferences all that often. We are targeting mostly kids in the region, Chicago, Omaha, Minneapolis, Texas. It is the sales pitch I was talking about, and I think NDSU has a really good one. But, if a recruit wants to break down spreadsheets...etc, they may find that there is a comparable conference out there.
MV is one of the best conferences at 1AA. NDSU/SDSU made it even better!!

Cole Jirik is planning on visiting on December 5th.

He plays in the Prep bowl in the state championship game.

Holds offers from NDSU and Western Michigan. Hearing from a few Big Ten Schools (Minn, Iowa, OSU).

I am guessing Minn is viewing him as a recruited walk on. If he gets a Big Ten or major offer, he is probably gone. If not....NDSU is a possiblity.

Lee, who said he was "really surprised" to win the award, is being recruited as a football player by Northern Illinois, North Dakota State and the Gophers -- though the hometown school became more of a long shot when standout Indianapolis QB recruit MarQueis Gray recently posted a qualifying score on his ACT and is expected to rejoin the Gophers in January.

As a hockey player, Lee (6-3, 215) has visited Harvard and still has recruiting trips set up with Denver, Notre Dame and, again, the Gophers

ESPN has some prospect names (and some videos and commentary) on a few players who are considering NDSU. Looks like a couple nationally ranked ESPN players; which is interesting. Just thought I'd share -- didn't see this here.

(Seems like that #118 TE is down to NDSU/SDSU. . . interesting.)

    QB recruit- Aaron Kondrasuk

-Monona Grove quarterback Aaron Kondrasuk (6-0, 200) is the type of overall athlete and just all-around good person that colleges love to recruit.

A 4.0 GPA student, National Honor Society member, High Honor Roll member and Academic Excellence award winner, Kondrasuk has also worked as a volunteer at numerous youth camps.........
