    Woodburys - Cooper Wahlo Jr.

    4.38 forty

Recruited walk on for the Gophers...also Northwestern is on his trail (no scholly yet I dont think)

Kind of the fringe Big 10 player that would be a good NDSU get.

On the blocked punt at the end, he put his hands up to block the punt and as the punter kicked it, he catches the ball in mid air and runs for a TD. - Nice

how about the RB/LB from Fargo South, Brandon Jemison, looks like he's very quick. He is now deciding between NDSU and UND for his choices.

With a large recruiting class I am expecting more junior college kids this year than we have seen in the past to space out some kids and fill some big holes left by some seniors. I'm interested to hear where you guys think we have some holes that some JUCO's might fill in next year. Here are my thoughts:

    CB: Freshman only
Safety: Juco to compete with Belmont and Lemon for starters next year.
    Linebacker: Freshman only
DE: Juco, we need depth there with Nick and Joe leaving. I'm curious if they don't give Bussy a look at that spot. (ala Nick Compton's move from linebacker to DE). He has the size.
DT: Juco...you just can't have enough of those guys.
WR: Freshman only: its been a bad year to gage, but I think one of the younger guys is going to step up next year...just a gut feel.
    TE: Freshman only
    FB: Freshman only
    QB: Juco to push Mertens
    RB: Freshman only
    OL: Freshman only
Return specialist: Freshman only: it would be nice to get a game breaker from a JUCO, but I bet those guys get snatched up pretty quick.

For a return specialist Varmah Sonie from Apple Valley would be excellent, in three years on varsity he had 9 return TD's in the best football conference in Minnesota, very good speed and super shifty

Anyone mentioned James Peterson QB from Blaine? 6-2 203. He led Blaine past Eden Prairie last night in the 5A playoffs. Sounds like he can run and pass fairly well. Here's some stats.

And here's the article on Blaine beating 2 time defending state champ Eden Prairie.

This sounds like exactly the kind of kid we need. Some key quotes from the article.

"Peterson (6-3, 202) clearly was the best player on the field, all but willing his team to victory. A victory he refused to call an upset."

"He's phenomenal,'' (Coach) Gerrety said. "I've been telling people all along. He has been a difference-maker in every game we have played this season"

"Peterson, who threw and ran the ball with authority all game.."
