It would be sweet if we suddenly ended up with Brewster's son at quarterback. No, I have never heard that, it isn't a rumor, but they are stacked at quarterback with their most recent recruit...and he will be a freshman next year. He was a great recruit, originally verballed to Illinois. I would love a transfer...but we have two years with our own stud first.

I agree that we should continue to recruit Houston, but let's be honest, only two players on that list have seen significant time. They may all turn out to be studs but for now they haven't really proven much in my book.

Those players haven't received their shot yet. Give them time.

We have gotten some good players from Texas. Didn't we have 3 or 4 back out over the years? I don't know if it's true or not but it seems like guys from the northern half of the US tend to stick around longer. I think it's weather related.

    Dj McNorton - Redshirted
Richard Bowman - Did quite well until his injury
    Josh Hazely-Freeman - Redshirted
    Warren Holloway - Redshirted
    Melvin Thomas - ??
Gary Williams - Redshirt freshman - playing behind several good wide receivers
Nate Agbetola - Had one of the plays of the day against the Gophers

Its pretty tough to make an impact when nearly half of this list was redshirting last fall.

The cornerback from Michigan, Bobby Miller has some impressive stuff on rivals. Appears to be a very solid get. We don't get many two star kids. I know Reid from Wisco was as well.....welcome to his Dad on this board by the way!!!

    Point taken.

We don't have any significant history of successful FBS transfers making a big impact. At QB Stauss was good one year, very poor the next and was replaced by a RFr.

My point is that Bohl and company have not much obvious success in recruiting a QB. Mertens is the only talented QB in his 4+ yrs as a recruiter here. You cannot convince me that he has been the only QB of his level in the recruiting footprint of NDSU. We have roughly 12 days to see if they can turn it around.

In all fairness, Staus was a very good QB. He owned numerous records, helped us beat Montana as a D2 team, and was a great passer. He just happened to have a younger guy named Steve Walker on the bench behind him. Bohl clearly has an eye for talent because it takes some balls to bench a BCS transfer from Northwestern for a redshirt freshman.

True. Chances are they will be good if they don't puss out and leave because it's cold.

My point wasn't to rip these players or even that they have had a chance and haven't shown anything. I was just saying that we can't say that we have gotten great result out of recruiting Houston when they haven't proven in yet.
