How did those refs grade out for that Auburn Georgia game?

No idea but one possible valid explanation was the coach was trying to get their attention regarding the defense using disconcerting signals (clapping). He may have signaled time out but that doesn't mean it was granted. And after discussion, the crew may have discerned due to following discussions that there should not be a time out. If that happens, hopefully the referee gave an explanation over the PA. If time is an element, they should do some kind of clock adjustment so a team doesn't gain a clock advantage.

For example, in my game a couple weeks ago, we had a holding foul near the end of the half. While we were discussing the foul, the game clock kept running. We stopped the clock but knew we had to reset it. During this time the offensive coach called a time out. First, we had to deal with the foul. The defense had the option of accepting and going to 3rd and 22 or declining and have 4th and 7. The coach decided to decline so I signaled that and indicated the offense had called time out. Then I had to have a coach radio to the press box to reset the game clock (no stadium mic). That's when the head coach asked if the clock would start on the snap or ready. When I told him it would be on the ready, he said he didn't want the time out. He wanted to run the play clock down and then call a time out before punting. He called the time out because he thought it was going to start on the snap. Because of the crazy circumstances and confusion with the gene clock and waiting for the defense to decide on the foul, it made sense to allow the coach to not have the time out. Unfortunately, I had no way to announce that to the crowd. Shortly after starting the clock, the defense chose to take a time out to save time for their drive. I watched the web stream, and the announcers were understandably confused as to why time came off the clock after the offense's time out.

I haven't seen the full details of the UGa Auburn situation, but there could be valid reasons we aren't privy to regarding the time out signal. Maybe it will show on Shaw's video tomorrow.

I don't know how that wasn't a td either. And then all the delays with the game. And auburn got all the wind taken out of their sails by the officials. Should have been up 17- 0. Instead they never score again and lose 20 to 10. I just happened to watch. Not a fan of either team.

And another question regarding concussion protocol. Yes Tim might not have seen that arm thing his player did. But he should have seen the film by now. He's got to sit the first half do to targeting. My question is why is he not in concussion protocol now? Must have passed the test. That arm thing bugs me.

Im watching this miami game, and my biggest take away is wow, cole payton is incredible. The miami qb absolutely sucks.

I caught about 5 minutes of miami on offense, and the qb threw multiple garbage picks in 5 min.

Im watching this miami game, and my biggest take away is wow, cole payton is incredible. The miami qb absolutely sucks.

After seeing Gopher fans storm the field after beating #25 Nebraska last night I think these conferences need to set up escalating fine systems based on the ranking of the team they beat - like a $100k base fine plus $10k times the ranking of the team they beat. So Minnesota pays $350k for doing it against #25 Nebraska or $110k if they somehow beat #1 Ohio St. Unranked could be $400k flat rate for being especially idiotic.
