    Default 2025-2026 Season

Although they’re not totally back Obe has them trending up for sure. There are competitive starters at most weights and the depth across the board has improved. Two new coaches that were both All Americans as wrestlers in the recent past should help in the room and with recruiting in the Midwest footprint. One All American and two NQers return with the some RS freshmen that should make an impact.

125 - Ezekiel Witt RsFrshould handle this weight for the next four years. Probably could have been the starter as a TFR but will benefit from the RS. Definitely a candidate to be a NQ.
133 - Looks like T Daughtery gets another year and looks like he’ll move up to be the starter at 133. Had a huge upset at the Big 12 tournament ly and became an unexpected NQ. If his confidence carries over he can be a NQ again.
141 - RsFr Micheal Olson should man this weight. Will be a grinding learning year. Probably ends up close to a .500 wrestler. IMO a career like Dylan Droegemueller is his future.
149 - Max Peterson drops down from 157. Had a good season last year until getting hurt which kept him out of the Big 12 tourney. Definite NQ candidate if he stays healthy.
157 - Returning AA Gavin Drexler bumps up to 157. His scrambling improved big time during the Big 12/National Tournament. NQ for sure. AA again would be amazing.
165 - ND native and sophomore Boeden Greenley wrestled a ton of matches ly and finished close to .500. Let’s hope the extra experience pays off and he trends positively. NQ would be a great year for him but probably a stretch. TF Brandon Dean is listed on the roster at this weight and might be a better option.
174 - Devin Wasley held this weight ly and is listed as the starter and #39 in Wrestlestat rankings. I’m guessing RsFr Max Magayna is the guy. Solid redshirt season and ranked ahead of Wasley in the Wrestlestat rankings at #31. It’s hard for a Freshman to become a NQ but he definitely can.
184 - Aiden Brenot Soph popped in the second half of the season, Big 12 and National Tournament. Huge surprise. The kids hips are exceptional and the sky is the limit for this kid. Finished round of 12 and should be a candidate to do the same or better this year.
197 - Tayshon Glover has a ton of upside. Low to the ground for a 197 pounder but very strong. Probably could use a RS but maybe he wants to get thru school in four years. A .500 season would be a win for this weight.
HWT - Andrew Blackburn Forst Jr manned this spot ly but should be pushed by RsFr Shilo Jones who had a very good Greco offseason. It’s a weight that could produce a NQ with some luck.
Bison fans are blessed. Enjoy it.

I’m guessing we’ll see very few of their starters.

I think there’s a lot of question marks around who’s wrestling what weight. Glover is still listed at 174 on the roster; does somebody else get rolled out at 197. Also some options at 149, 157, and 165.

I agree with you NDSU grad.
I wouldn't be surprised to see half this lineup different.
The good thing is we have a few options at a few weights. Hopefully, that pushes the guys to keep improving and fight for a spot in the starting line up. Also gives Obe options as to matchups that best suit the team in duals. Screenshot 2025-10-08 12.22.19 PM.jpg
