Time to break this out from storage.

Looking good Billy Ray!
The weather in Fargo keeps the undesirables out.....
...Which is why I live near the Twin Cities.
Not sure I agree with that. He's still young, and would not be a "lost cause" already if Wentz lit it up. (Not saying he will, BTW) It gives you a chance to win now, which is pretty darn important. They had no hope of winning with other back up options they looked at.
I'd see little harm if JJ ended up sitting the rest of the year IF Wentz ripped it up. Give JJ a chance to learn, and the Vikings would be in same delemna as last year, and when Kirk left. They arean't goint to want to shell out any big guarentees to someone Carson's age, so he would likely walk unless he'd agree to a 1 year deal. JJ got the tast of starting, learns another year, and tries again next year. That would not be so bad, honestly.
I am a big Wentz fan but this is not a good position to be in cause that line is bad right now and he struggles with a bad line as most QBs do. Only like the top five QBs can overcome a bad line in the regular season. Guys like Wentz and Darnold and most other QBs just struggle with a bad oline.
If it flies it dies.
Long for the days of freezing in the south stands of Dacotah Field.
This could be a win-win-win for Vikes&Wentz fans-
Wentz - plays well, wins the SB for Vikes (beating Eagles in NFC Championship, Colts in SB), rides off into sunset with a better story than Warner.
O'Connell - becomes all-time QB whisperer for winning with lost-causes Darnold & Wentz, Vikes get JJ and pick of litter for other free agents as long as he's here.
JJ - learns another year (no-one ever says Erin or JLove were worse off for sitting 3 years, much less 2), bulks up a little, builds on early experience, comes back still on rookie contract.
A man can dream, right?
Realistically JJ will probably start again when he's healthy even with Wentz doing well, hopefully line gets healthy next 2-3 weeks, D is playing pretty good. I think JJ will be a good QB long-term; he's won at all levels, and a better arm/athlete than most people think (including me last year).
Well, no matter what Carson will make NFL history if he does start on Sunday: https://x.com/MySportsUpdate/status/1967708539184615931
Carson Wentz will start for his 6th team in 6 seasons — which is something no QB in NFL history has ever done.
• 2025: Vikings
• 2024: Chiefs (1 game)
• 2023: Rams (1 game)
• 2022: Commanders (7 games)
• 2021: Colts (17 games)
• 2020: Eagles (12 games)
If Darrisaw comes back that OL could shift dramatically in a better direction.
NDSU to the FBS always. In all ways.
