Everything is "nicer" than when we old farts went to NDSU/or NDAC. But is it "better?" I think not.

We did not have wellness centers back in the 1970s. "Wellness" was defined as running to classes so you are on time. Memorial Union back then had the charm and comfort of a bus station. Today, parts of it are nicer than my living room.

We STOOD IN LINE and exchanged SMALL TALK while we waited to register for classes. We learned PATIENCE standing in line. Not now, when people get upset if they have to wait 20 seconds for a screen refresh. I remember standing in line to pay my tuition ($250 a quarter). Further ahead was a student from Wisconsin who had to pay $500. A loud murmur went through the crowd - "Did you hear the clerk say he had to pay $500?" OMG. Books were $5 or $10 tops and when we heard a chemistry book was $30, we went into deep shock.

I remember when the NDSU Library went digital. My old-school history prof said she liked the old card-catalog way cuz it taught patience. Now look at society - we want EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME, ON TIME, AND if we don't get it ON-TIME EVERY TIME, we blow a gasket.

And I swear on the Bible, during my years at NDSU, I never ONCE heard an F-bomb being said. Not saying it was not SAID SOMEWHERE but I never heard it. Kids use profanity like word fillers these days.

Bro I was on that upper level seating in the reed Johnson one with the football team down below. I fired a pea from a spoon and nailed Bob Babich in the head eh! They never figured out where it came from. Thank goodness.

There was a dude who sat up there by himself and drank Tabasco sauce. Don't imagine he's still around.

Do you know if he put the bottle back on the table after slurping it??. That was before COVID though, so no germs occurred.

Now I hear NDSU fall 2025 enrollment went up a stunning 1%. Meanwhile across the River, MSUM went up to 34 percent.

What is wrong with NDSU Do they care

Isn't Minnesota doing taxpayer funded school now? If so, that'll keep a lot of kids over there instead of Fargo and Grand Forks

Precisely. Also Moorhead (the city) has some type of agreement or working agreement between Moorhead High and MSUM to encourage or maybe even pay for college to MHS graduates who have a certain GPA and elect to go to MSUM.

I have 2 endowments over at NDSU and honestly the way they screwed one up, I wondered why I bothered. Never again.

Free college at MSUM for Moorhead high grads. It's a thing.

You don't give out trophies for losing. Trophies for sucking. That's a communist idea. You don't get a trophy for losing. You get a piece of pizza and you shut up. Trophies for losing? What the hell happened to us?
