Re: 2008 NDSU Recruiting Radar
This weekend they are coming. Recruiting weekend, I am sure they will go to the hoops games.

Re: 2008 NDSU Recruiting Radar
A guy on the Hammer show just said that he feels UND has out recruited NDSU and that nobody has decommitted since the coaching change. I hate it when people who don't know what they are talking about get on the air. Our class is small, but really good right now. We only have a few more spots available....but to call UND's class better at this point is silly. Seriously.

Re: 2008 NDSU Recruiting Radar
I heard that too. Recruits for any team haven't proven anything at the collegiate level, so it's tough to compare recruiting classes until four years after the fact. With that said, I haven't seen UND's recruits, but it sounds like they're landing a good class. I hope they do since they can up their scholarship count.

That is a link to the Sioux verbals to date. Appears pretty small town to me, I just don't see us recruiting against them very often. There are a few times. They clearly have a bunch more schollies to offer up this year as we are at max, and will only be offering about 12 this year. One guy on their website stated they would have 7 ND starters on their starting defense.

Re: 2008 NDSU Recruiting Radar
Mitch Sutton is a player. He was Wisconsin's Gatorade Player of the Year. They also received a verbal from Ian Rosario from Alaska, who appears to have potential. UND has a lot more scholarship money than NDSU. Although the recruiting class this year will be small, it has great talent.
I know Seth Whistoff was being heavily recruited by both schools. His brother played for UND, so I am guessing that why he ended up there. Otherwise, I don't think UND and NDSU are going after the same kids.

Re: 2008 NDSU Recruiting Radar
Interestingly, the Sioux have three QBs on their verbal list. We haven't had that many total QB recruits in the past four years combined. Sioux must be tying them up so we don't get any
Seriously, if we don't get a big time QB recruit this year, this class will suck no matter who else is on it, IMHO. We need some QB depth and we need it now.
Seriously, I can't believe we all sit around and talk about how great our recruiting classes have been when we haven't had a decent QB recruit since Mertens signed during the Clinton administration

Re: 2008 NDSU Recruiting Radar
I agree....but I really doubt we were on a Quarterback from Perham...no offense.

Re: 2008 NDSU Recruiting Radar
Not to offend any of your guys thoughts...but if bohl thought we needed a QB im sure we would have offered one by now...I dont see what is wrong with Mertens or Parsons, we havent had QB troubles...with our running game who needs a flippin all star QB? we will be just fine, i have faith in mertens and parsons

Re: 2008 NDSU Recruiting Radar
Here is something interesting. Daniel Eaves, Melvin Thomas, and according to Ol' Ball Coach ...DJ McNorton to a small extent all played quarterback in high school. Something to think about.

Re: 2008 NDSU Recruiting Radar
I don't think anyone is questioning Mertens. Most people would like to see a QB in this class to be groomed as his replacement in 3 years.
