Many on here had given the MWC a death sentence, but much of that might have been wishful thinking from the FCS forever crowd. It is very hard to kill a conference
If you believe Matt Brown, Summit is already backfilling …

Ut arlington plz.
I'd love to go watch ndsu mbb lose then never go to a game ever again.
It seems like our basketball team miraculously achieves a new all time low every single year.

They would join the Horizon long before the Summit.
NDSU to the FBS always. In all ways.
Here are Izzo and McFeely talking about the Mountain West possibilities: Hot Mic with Dom Izzo on X: "From the show this morning, @McFeely_Inforum and @DomIzzoWDAY discuss NDSU potentially moving to the Mountain West. https://t.co/pu2AUbfVrj" / X
One point that they made was that the non-conference schedules are going to be insane so I went and checked what the future membership has for non-conference (home games in bold)
UTEP: Nebraska, Tennessee, Colorado State, Southern Utah
Nevada: SMU, Minnesota, Troy, Georgia Southern, Oregon State
UNLV: Houston, Utah Tech, Kansas, Syracuse
SJSU: Sacramento State, Kennesaw State, Washington State, Stanford
New Mexico: Montana State, Arizona, Auburn
I stopped there. Make of it what you will. Definitely an upgrade in competition though.
Playing upwards of 3 P4 teams annually (albeit on the road) is a huge upgrade for the Bison and a chance to really elevate the program. Plus I do think the remaining MWC teams are still on average a pretty considerable step up from MVFC competition, especially week in/week out.
