Only way Toledo is going is with a Missouri Valley invite for the rest of their sports. NIU isn't getting that invite, they might have to slum it in the Horizon or something worse.

NDSU to the FBS always. In all ways.
Depends entirely on the money. If they get enough, they go. However, nothing has been decided yet. No offer yet and there may not be one. The MW does not have to add anyone so that makes for tougher negotiations.
OK, the remark was harsh. But with those schools you get what you see. For NDSU/SDSU it would be a move up and these schools will respond accordingly. Their ceilings would be elevated and they would grow into their new skin. Then there's the logistics. Toledo/NIU are hundreds of miles further outside of the MWC footprint.
Let’s put it this way: I wouldn’t mind being conference mates with Toledo and NIU, regardless of where they land. Far better competition than many other MAC members like Kent St. They would also be closer to us than other schools we would play.
How well NDSU and the gang of 4 “grow into new skin” will depend in part on our budgets. There is a direct correlation with FBS success to level of spending. The conference champions almost always have one of the higher athletic budgets in their conferences. We would need at least a $50m budget in MW to be highly competitive imo. The numbers for MAC would be lower.
