There is literally no positive difference between montana/ndsu and jmu. And jmu was fcs like 2 years ago. Id argue that as flagships ndsu/montana has way more potential than jmu. Especially regarding a map...
Well, thats a new twist I haven't seen posted anywhere yet, at least by any credible sources.

    1) I don't think that conversation will even remotely occur.
    2) Texas St is the only SBC school I think could be in play for MWC. It would come down to money and whether they get some nearby school like UTEP to go with them. CUSA has several western ones that could move, like SHSU, NMSU, UTEP. I don't think its likely the eastern ones will be interested. Unless MWC decides to just buy up CUSA entirely.

So, the better example to use here would be SHSU. And I do agree it would be incredibly stupid if they took SHSU because they are FBS, or for that matter simply because they exist in Texas. Though the whole Texas thing seems to have this inexplicable lure for conferences. I *have* seen Tarleton name dropped in some publications as a potential add for MWC, and that almost made my jaw drop.

JMU would never in a million years move to the Mountain West. The Sunbelt is poised to have a brighter future than the Mountain West.

Join the screeching idiots on facebook lol. Heres 2 examples from today, ive seen jmu brought up at least 10 times between the 2 conferences. The group is a mess now that it represents both conferences.

I don't know who the MW might pursue..I don't know yet if there will be a MW after 2026. The current group is in place for 2 more years . After that any remainders would get a 2 year grace period ala the Pac 2 to rebuild, should they decide to do so. I would say all of the FCS schools who wish to join the MW will have at least 2 years and probably 3 or 4 to ramp up. How they fit or don't fit right now probably doesn't have much bearing. Where the schools are 3 years from now will be important.

    1) Facebook as a source,

    2) that discussion looks like it was about PAC adding App St and JMU as a pair, which is an entirely different discussion than adding JMU to MWC. PAC has been trying to form a "best of G5" group and went after the best AAC schools as well, including Memphis, Tulane, USF, UTSA. Those schools ultimately said no because the money wasn't good enough to switch. You would see the same result I predict if they try to poach App St & JMU from SBC. But PAC and MWC are two entirely different situations. IF (uncertain), the PAC could sign a monster media deal, and secure the CFP spot, they would be in a position to pick off the top AAC and SBC schools. That simply won't happen with MWC, who almost certainly will be calling up some FCS teams.

Are you thinking/hearing MW will file to get an exemption to the 2 year rule to meet FBS membership requirements? Or do you think they would get to 8 with FBS schools, then add a few FCS as well?

Its just the most recent 2 screechers to demonstrate. Feel free to dig through the feed of a ridiculously active group with 13,000 posting mwc members. I'm not in the habit of screenshotting every idiot on the internet, so I have to scroll backwards to find posts that havent been deleted or moderated.

Nah, I'm good. I'm fairly selective on what rumors I tune into, and look for reporters and others with credible connections to conference decision makers.

My neighbors dogs are better sources than the facebook mob.

No idea..There are lawsuits now and that could drag on for awhile. More schools may leave..I just don't think the MW will do much for awhile until the dust settles. As far as FCS vs FBS schools. It depends on who is sticking around. The MW is currently at 7 football schools. They need to have 8. I would assume it will be mostly FBS adds if possible. It really just depends on so many unknowables right now.
