New Rockford-Sheyenne High School senior multi-sport star Kelsie Belquist announced her verbal commitment to compete in track & field at the University of Nebraska this evening.

Belquist has been a standout on the track as a prep athlete in North Dakota.

…… LaMoure-Litchville-Marion senior Norah DelaBarre left the throwing circle in shock late Friday morning.

DelaBarre heaved a 151-10 in the girls discus to set a new Class B state record in the event and capture a state title in the process.

“I can’t believe it,” DelaBarre said of her new accolade. “I remember talking about it last year about how crazy that throw was, the former state record. I can’t believe I’ve got it now.”…..

Former Bison footballer Andy DelaBarre is Head Coach there for football, perhaps this is his daughter?

Kindred triple jumper Presley Peraza wins his event at 44’ 8 1/2”.
Saw where he decommited from Minot State when their Head Coach left (Jackrabbit assistant?).
He was a standout basketball player also, iirc he was going to play both sports at Minot. Wonder where he will end up? Would Bison track get involved for the 6’ 6” multi sport athlete? Has gone 22’ 11” in the long jump and had highlight reel dunks in basketball.

Bowman County’s Taylor Wanner won the boys 800-meter race with a Class B record time of 1:52.90. Wanner will join the NDSU track team next fall.

“It feels great to come here and just get the opportunity to accomplish my goals,” said Wanner, who was named the boys Class B Senior Athlete of the Year.
