"HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball program's weekend series opener against North Dakota State was rained out Friday at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
Southeastern (9-5) and the Bison (2-9) are now scheduled to play a 2 p.m. doubleheader Saturday as part of the Super Lion Saturday festivities. Both games are slated for coverage on ESPN+.
Fans can listen to the game broadcasts in the Hammond area on 90.9 The Lion. In addition, an audio stream is available online at www.LionSports.net/ListenLive and via the Lions Gameday Experience, TuneIn and MyTuner Radio apps. Super Lion Saturday features a koozie giveaway for the first 200 fans at baseball. Also, in action throughout the day on campus will be the SLU beach volleyball, softball and football teams. In addition, Northshore Media Group will host a special remote broadcast outside Strawberry Stadium on Kajun 107.1 FM, The Highway 104.7 FM and The Boss 103.7/WFPR 1400 AM from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Right-hander Brennan Stuprich (1-1, 1.13) draws the starting nod for the Lions in the series opener. The redshirt junior from Kenner, Louisiana will be opposed by NDSU redshirt sophomore left-hander Nolan Johnson (0-0, 3.00).
Saturday's second game pitching matchup features redshirt junior right-hander RHP Dakota Lee (0-1, 2.45) for SLU and junior right-hander Logan Knight (0-2, 7.11) for the Bison.
Will Kinzeler (1-0, 10.12), a senior right-hander from Covington, Louisiana, earns the start on the mound in the series finale. He will be opposed by NDSU freshman right-hander Landon Koenig (0-2, 10.32).
The Bison dropped all four games in a weekend series at No. 6-ranked Oregon State last weekend in Corvallis, Oregon.
Colton Becker (.382), Jake Schaffner (.345) and Sam Canton (.282) pace NDSU at the plate. Becker leads the squad with six extra-base hits and Canton owns a team-high 9 RBIs."
