I would hate to be the new president right now. Seems like a good enough guy but he has some tremendous headwinds between enrollment, budget cuts and the football/conference/level debacle.

It's a horrible mess. On the other hand, if he handles this well he probably punches his ticket for at least a Big 12 level school...this won't be his last stop...

That's a great point. Solving problems = earning money. Bigger problems = more money.

Don't know much about that specifically but in any organization the head guy sets the tone ...

Don't care. Not a defender or a particular fan of DB. His fingerprints are all over the current state of our University and Athletic Department and both are facing significant challenges in the near future. The least of my concerns are that he had a girlfriend on the Alumni Board of Directors in 2013 or that he pissed off Rob Port. President Cook needs to set a new tone for the University moving forward and needs to lead NDSU to it's potential. DB didn't do that.

The provost fiasco was another, but as long as football was winning no one noticed, or cared.
