Matt Larsen was in the insiders and confirmed once again that this administration does not want a CzuSA invite. He said our fans don’t want to see opponents from that region of Texas to Florida…… he says we are waiting for the right opportunity to come up not just any opportunity

Karl Benson said several years ago that he would admit NDSU to the sunbelt and I'd like to see those schools. Someone make the AD answer that question.

I'm glad we have competent leaders. The right opportunity will come with a little patience.

If that was changed, there might be a schools dropping down because they are only in D-I for for the basketball money from March madness.
It's OK to not be OK.

Delaware announces a facility upgrade that doesn't come close to what we're doing and everyone gets excited saying they are going to FBS.
If their plans are "telegraphing FBS", what do you think our facilities say? We've hardly been sitting still.

If the plan really was to be fcs forever, we wouldn't sink this much money into football.
Like ML said, when you move it is about setting the path for the next 50 years, not the next 5.

The play-in games were a compromise to expand the field. The big schools basically ended up with 4 more schools going from 64 to 68.

Hated? I think your misreading the room.
Regardless of what the D1 Transformation Committee recommends, any change in the auto-bid would require a change of the NCAA by-laws, which would need to be voted on by the membership.
And C-USA doesn't have a member who would qualify for the tournament without the auto-bid with North Texas and UAB leaving.
The MAC had a higher rated team than C-USA last year and the Sun Belt's wasn't far behind. So much for investing all that money in basketball.

This was reasonable thinking 15-20 years ago. But thinking this today is moronic. There is no "50 year plan" in college football right now. Good heavens, this is troubling if that's what he said. But it would explain our lack of agility in responding to the ever-changing landscape.
I don't care what Jim says. That is not the real Ben Franklin. I'm 99% certain.

The point is, you can't jump, and then jump again in 3 years. Theres a lot that goes into changing conferences, and conferences are increasingly making it difficult to leave with exit fees and GoR. You can't just jump to a garbage conference thinking we will leave for something better in 2-5 years. You will be stuck there a while. It might work in FCS or D2, but not in FBS.

I'd love to be in the Sunbelt, but don't think its likely to happen. MWC is more likely to line up. The pieces are in motion to make that happen.
SBC is likely to stay regional just like CUSA. Travel costs matter for G5 conferences, especially outside MWC and AAC.
