SEWARD, Neb.-- With two outs in the bottom of the 10th innings. the Concordia (Neb.) University was able to push across the winning run to defeat the University of Jamestown baseball team 7-6 in the GPAC championship game.

Concordia took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third, and the Jimmies were held scoreless until the top of the fifth. Tayler Cullen (SR/Santa Rosa, Calif.) led off the inning with a home run, then a two-out Quade Peters (FR/West Fargo, ND) single scored Isaiah Roebuck (FR/Marana, AZ) to draw UJ level.

The Bulldogs went back in front with a single run in the bottom of the fifth, but Jamestown answered in the top of the sixth as Xander Orejudos (JR/Ellensburg, WA), who doubled to start the inning, came home on Cullen's single to center field.

The back-and-forth affair continued as Concordia pushed home three runs in the bottom of the sixth for a 6-3 lead, the largest of the game. The Jimmies responded to the challenge their next time at bat, using a Kendall Yackley (JR/Lynnwood, WA) single and a two-run Tanner Shepard (SR/Grand Rapids, MN) double to draw level at 6-6.

CUNE had a chance to win in the bottom of the ninth, getting a runner to third with two out, but Hayden Brown (JR/Buckeye, AZ) struck out Keaton Candor to end the threat.

Brown (2-1) was the hard-luck loser, allowing one run on two hits while striking out two and issuing one walk. Ben Ray (JR/Federal Way, WA) got the final out for the Jimmies in the sixth, then retired the next six hitters he faced to keep Jamestown in the game.

The Jimmies ended the game with 11 hits, with two hits each by Orejudos, Shepard, Cullen, and Peters.
