I think his exact quote was "oH, i'm carson wentz and i'm not gonna get the vax because I'm a cHrIsTiAn and gOd wIlL kEeP mE sAfE!!!"

To pretend that McFeeley has even a neutral stance on average bible believing Christians is deeply misguided. He obviously lets it affect his opinion of people and it seeps through everything he does, clear as day. McFooley very clearly delights in the schadenfreude for anyone who dares to disagree with him on quite literally anything, which makes it very fun to read when he agrees with you and very not fun when you dont. But he pretty obviously lied about Wentz in that Hot Mic interview, and gleefully dragged his faith through the mud in the process.
McFeeley is a better representation of typical religious view than Carson Wentz

No, I'm saying Philly is an outlier. Nice stretch though.
Mountain West, hope for the best.

Come on, surely we can agree that all people deserve to have what they already know in their hearts to be true reenforced relentlessly by every piece of media and culture they consume.

An unfortunate concept onto which a lot of ignorant people unknowingly cling. I knew you wouldn't like my "local media" take

Like most people with their brains turned on, just trying to sort through the daily media agenda BS (from both sides)... And no, I don't think Wentz gets a fair shake from ESPN or Philly. I'd much more be willing to read folks who write to predominantly Colts fans have to say about it. Much less chance for bias to creep in, IMO.

Its not so much that I don’t like it as that I think you’re calling it something it isn’t, a local media take.

McFeeley notwithstanding, I have a hard time seeing Wentz' religion having anything to do with it. The NFL is full of religious people, many of them more religious and more conservative about it than Wentz. He was clear about his faith, but he backed it up with legitimate actions that helped his community. He wasn't a big bible thumper and he avoided, for the most part, the politics of religion.

I think CAS hit it on the head with his earlier locker room comment, and I also wonder if Wentz coming from NDSU and the average fan not knowing the difference between FCS and DII had anything to do with how the public reacted. Lower division players are supposed to be a bargain that surprises you, like Thelan for the Vikings or whats-his-name who QB'ed the Rams years back. They're not supposed to be drafted that high and make that much money--and if they do, they better be better than anyone else...

My wife's employer required vaccination as a term of employment effective November 1. They did allow for exceptions and most that were submitted were for religious reasons. I don't believe many of them were from those denominations. Many did use the fact the vaccines used research that included cells from aborted fetuses in the 70s as the reason, but most think it was more political than religious. Probably a little of both and they aren't necessarily unrelated.

It'd be interesting to see whether these same folks making that argument would sign something that said that they'll refuse all medical treatments with any links to fetal tissue.
