I think he did a great job. I like the Summit League for the most part.

Agreed, his biggest mistake was adding UMKC back. I know they fit the geography, but they have one of the worst athletic departments in all of D1. I would have strongly prefered Minnesota State and they are years away from being ready.

I 100% agree with you about the folly of chasing media markets. There's been some good articles I've read recently in the context of football that point out how dumb it is to be focused on tv markets. You need fans and energy and success. Rutgers has not cut it for the B1G, the NYC metro market notwithstanding.
Well we just added Belmont a few weeks ago who will by far have the smallest fan base in the MVC. It's looking like Murray State probably won't be invited, despite the rumors, even though they would have one of the larger fan bases in the MVC. I've followed Eastern IL in football and basketball for over a decade. Anyone that thinks Belmont is a better add than Murray State doesn't know much of anything about the OVC.

Little Rock will be looking for a new home soon(also UT Arlington). Wonder if the Summit is going to give them a call? Would make a good travel partner with ORU.

So....Loyola-Chicago out of MVC to A-10. UMKC on the short list to replace them in MVC. Odd.

Just another reminder that markets actually do matter to the people making the decisions.
