    Default 2022 Verbal: Hudson Artz

Bison pick up a walk-on commitment from Hudson Artz from Fairmont, MN. Good size at 6-0 180. Looks like he plays safety and wide receiver.

Looks like his dad is Kelly Artz. Former Bison wide receiver (92-96).

Played against Kelly in high school. Absolute beast in 9 man football. Man among boys. He wasn't big, but he was so damn fast and hit like a freight train.

Caught a TD pass in that game. He was probably the only player on the field where one could still read his number; the other players........no way. Don't remember the qb in that game.......

    Kelly fucking Artz. That guy...

So, my junior year of track in high school was one that I was very competitive in the 100M and 200M. That year, the guy in our region that was faster than me, along with another pretty fast kid, graduated and the guys behind me were a ways back. The field was totally open for me to dominate my senior year.

    So I thought...

For our first meet (not a regional one, but we went out west), I got beat badly in the 100 by Cal Carlson from Watford. That dude had wheels. Then the following day, we were in a meet at Minot State's complex and this tiny dude from Westhope beats me by about 3/4". I didn't know who the fuck he was at the time. It was his freshman year. He and I traded turns all season with red and blue ribbons.

    So much for dominating...

He ended up getting much faster as he got older.
    Insert something clever here...

We must be from close to the same area of ND as I too played against Kelly in High School. Definitely top 2 of fastest guys I played against. The other was Josh (don't remember his last name) from Burke County. Unfortunately in the 1 game we played against Kelly he got tackled on sideline with the yardage chain and it cut up his knee/leg and he didn't play rest of game.

Love the previous posts. Cool to have legacy players at NDSU. Honestly, we need more of them. I am OK with national recruiting, but sometimes local or legacy players get an extra cheer from me. Same as walkons. Gotta earn it.
