A new and better FBS thread

There was no realignment. There was no P5 split front the rest of FBS. Essentially nothing has happened at all but a proposal to give the G5 a way into the CFP. That’s pretty much all anyone ever wanted. A pathway to a championship or lack there of was a lot of people’s issue with pursuing an FBS move. From some looking listening and reading, this proposal is most likely going to happen and take affect 2024. Come on AD ML. Make the announcement.

it's been enough time, Bison Fatigue is here and NDSU has plateaud unfortunately .. especially the BUZZ and hype.

to recapture all of this, NDSU needs to go FBS and make some back room deal with mountain west. even be willing to cover football travel for conference foes or think outside the box

I think our chances of getting into FBS have never been lower. We needed to make the push when we had something to offer. We beat Iowa; we had our umpteenth FCS championship; we had a couple ESPN Gamedays in town. We were all the buzz. And nothing else really remarkable was going on in FBS. But now, you've got serious discussion of a 12 team playoff with multiple paths into the 12-team mix. No FBS conference members are going to want to add NDSU and dillute the chances of themselves making it into the playoffs. What's more, in the event some conference IS open to new membership, we'll now be competing for that slot with several other FCS teams that are attracted to the new playoff format. Those of you who wanted things in FBS to be perfect before making the move, that's precisely when such a move is no longer available to a team like us.

Not saying agree or disagree with you but with today’s social media availability I would find it hard for such talks or meetings to happen and nobody knowing about it and it getting out to media one way or another.

Then why was the P5 given autonomy?

Not saying agree or disagree with you but with today’s social media availability I would find it hard for such talks or meetings to happen and nobody knowing about it and it getting out to media one way or another.

Most people in authority know how to keep their mouths shut and dont post information like this on social media.

Any examples in history, and specifically recent history, where an FCS school was invited to join an FBS conference without announcing their intentions to do so?
