...... Spack had previously stated ISU would file a waiver with the NCAA to allow Uphoff to play in the Senior Bowl and still be eligible for the Redbird spring games.

“I think the waiver would have gone through, but who knows,” Spack said. “They are pro athlete right now.”

24 years old already, 6th year in college among them. He (Brady Davis) did not play due to injury in the Redbirds 9-3 quarterfinal playoff loss to NDSU last season.

True that on the All-star team. Possibly 2 1st round NFL picks from NDSU alone.
At least it’s not a one-way street. I remember reading of Northern Iowa’s 5 transfers (4 from FBS), 4 are eligible this spring. Would guess other FCS schools are getting some as well.

Another interesting comment out there from some recruiting guys is that there are too many FBS players in the transfer portal - and not enough roster spots for them. Think small recruiting classes due to Covid eligibility exceptions (extra year). So more drop-downs from FBS could still happen.

The Gophers recently got a couple commits off the transfer portal too.

no, i know that Spring Semester Starts Jan 11th across the country and going home and hanging with family over break will make a few say screw it, i'm out or "I can transfer to FBS and sit out this spring and play Sept 1 instead of in brookings sd on March 1 " haha
