I hear you but on the flip side it is impressive that we are buukding a culture where alumni foot the bill rather than students. BTW, it is the only sustainable model for the future especially with falling enrollment. Look at WIU and SIU whoseenrollments have fallen by half. NDSU TO FBS. HAVEN'T WE WON ENOUGH?
And most students don’t use the movie theater, bowling alley, rec center, pool...
I know everyone loves blowing up Chapo about everything but I agree with him. More visible sports programs absolutely helps out graduates, at least in my case it did. I meet with colleagues and clients all the time that ask about my NDSU polo and ring, comment about being a great program, how cool was it to go to school with Wentz, etc. Damn near everyone immediately after comments about how that’s all they know about ND but it’s something awesome to be known for.
None of the money that goes to the athletic department from student fees goes to club sports.
Students get a say because it’s there money, they decide where it gets spent, whether that’s club hockey, the athletic department, an art gallery, student newspaper, radio, or the astronomy club.

We all live in stories... It seems to me that a definition of any living vibrant society is that you constantly question those stories... The argument itself is freedom. It's not that you come to a conclusion about it. Through that argument you change your mind sometimes... That's how societies grow. When you can't retell for yourself the stories of your life then you live in a prison... Somebody else controls the story. - S. Rushdie
