Good article and further evidence the NCAA as an organization isn't rolling in cash like many people think. A lot of money goes through there but it mostly supports the cost of the 90 championships they organize and the member conferences and schools.
I would also guess even if Turner/CBS aren't on the hook for the media rights they probably also lost money on the decision. They may have to pay some of the talent and refund advertising purchased. They could potentially have Vista associated with production or rights fees for whatever they plan to show in place of the tournament (pure speculation).
A good friend of mine is a union rigger for productions. He does concerts and shows so his income for the next couple months goes away. He's paid by the job. It's not a side gig or retirement gig like the ushers and concession people and ticket takers who are also impacted by this. There are so many financial impacts related to this.

Has Cox graduated yet? Are you required to have graduated in order to qualify for the transfer portal without a one year sitting period? If so do they allow football players to enter the transfer portal at this time with the assumption that they are on course to graduate in or by the spring. Wondering about this since NDSU seems to be gearing up to quite possibly not come back at all after this spring break. And if that is true, what if Cox is unable to earn enough credits to graduate.
Depending on the answer to above questions. With everything shutting down because of the Corona Virus what are the guesses about when Cox will make a decision. One of my train of thoughts was that he would visit schools but wait until he walks across stage to get his degree and then make his announcement that he was going to leave. Thus keeping him out of the limelight until he was off campus and away from other students. But now with the very real chance that the rest of the school year could be canceled, could his choice to go somewhere else come very soon.If NDSU cancels the rest of the school year, would he go visit LSU and fall in love with it and make a choice one or two days later and be gone. So question for this paragraph. Does his choice have a plan to wait until May after school would normally be done, or does he make one or two visits get offered and jump ship right away if school is canceled for the rest of the year?
From the movie THE PROGRAM
Regent Chairman: This is not a football vocational school. It's an institute for higher learning.
Coach Winters: Yeah, but when was the last time 80,000 people showed up to watch a kid do a damn chemistry experiment? Why don't you stick the bow-tie up your ass?
verrrrryyyy interesting
NDSU TO FBS. HAVEN'T WE WON ENOUGH?
NDSU and other colleges are doing online classes... they’ll finish the year this way if they have to, anyone including Cox should graduate this spring as planned.
He graduates in May. You can enter the portal without having already graduated. EWU's Vernon Adams had to take some summer courses to graduate before heading to Oregon I believe. NDSU will use online classes to complete the spring semester if necessary. He's gone and there is little to no chance he comes back, that would be a very awkward situation IMO. Best he make his choice and stick to it at this point.
This will probably work out in his favor as he will be able to complete his classes "here" while he is physically in Louisiana (if that's the destination) working unofficially on learning their system.
Personally I couldn't care less about Jabril's future. He left when he STILL COULD HAVE CONTINUED TO PLAY FOR THE BISON. He will always have an asterisk next to his name in my memory. Putting on another college uniform is not the same as someone in the NFL moving to another team. Apparently the Bison family wasn't good enough for him even though it helped build him up.
