Who the hell runs QB power and single-wing offense in 2018? High school football and Montana State.

He's just a special athlete, but above all he is a football player. There is a decent chance he'd be our best player at about half of the positions on the football field if he switched. He's just and old-school, Leave it to Beaver type All-American kid who loves football and has some exceptional athletic abilities to go along with.

Will he be the best athlete NDSU has ever seen? Probably not even this season. But it's a testament to his athletic ability that he can play a mix of LB/RB as a true freshman last year where he was the Big Sky freshman of the year, spend all spring ball at LB, literally switch to QB for player run summer workouts, win the QB job and then go 7-3 as a starter and be arguably the worst passing QB in the country. Because of the other things he can do, and his intangibles as a leader and a competitor.

It's just a remarkable story and I'm not sure I've ever seen anything like it. So maybe you have seen something like this before, but I have my doubts. But that doesn't mean we are a great football team. I don't expect a W on Saturday, and I even expect Andersen to be contained. But it's been a season for the ages in more than just wins and losses.

We're just damn proud of our small town Montana boy.

As you should be. What MSU has done this year is quite remarkable. From not having a QB to start fall practice to making the playoffs and getting a win. Sounds like you guys are playing better now than at the beginning of the season.

Who knows, just might be a better game than I expect.
