    Default Western Illinois?

    http://www.in-forum.com/Sports/articles/152224

With the cancellation of MSU, NDSU has eight games: home against Stephen F. Austin (Texas), California Davis and Southern Utah and away against Minnesota, Mississippi Valley State, California Poly, Western Illinois and South Dakota State.

It's not listed on gobison, but MSU is still listed there.

I don't know if we have actually scheduled them, but I'd like to think we'd win that game.

I think the W. Illinois game will be Sept. 29 as this is when WIU was scheduled to host W. Kentucky. With WKU moving up to a higher level, this is likely the open date.

Away vs WIU on Sept. 29th would leave us with open dates Sept. 1st, Sept. 22nd, and Nov. 3rd (because we moved Davis up to be homecoming).

The Sept. 1st game would either be a DII/NAIA game, which I am totally against unless it's UND, or a lower level FCS game, which I would welcome.

Otherwise, we'd simply be taking the first week off and playing 11 weeks straight.

Taking a week off on Nov. 3rd might not be the worst idea ever, since the last 2 games are away at Poly and SD St., which will probably be our 2 hardest games of the season. You heard me right, they'll be harder than the Gopher game.

Another away game. I assume this is a one time deal since NDSU could be in the Gateway in 2008. Nice that other universities have NDSU to take advantage of, that is, schedule wise.
Hope somehow we get Montana State in the Fargodome for NDSU's first playoff game in 2008 and proceed to kick the crap out of them!

Northern Iowa has Sept. 22nd open!

And, from looking at the Gateway schedules, UNI played WKU on Nov. 4th in 2006, which would be analogous to Nov. 3rd for 2007. To me, that means they also have Nov. 3rd open.

Not sure if we could get them to come to the dome, but we gotta try to get them on the schedule for 2007!

Here's what I'd like to see happen:

Nov. 3rd Northern Iowa in the Fargodome.

Sept. 22nd or 15th and MAC type program away.

Sept. 1st a low level FCS or UND in the Fargodome.

That would give us 5 home 6 away with Minnesota and a MAC team.

Roughly the same type of schedule we played last season. Probably as good as we're going to get if we're in the Great West.
