Tough team but as a coach you have to be disappointed with that finish. Turnovers killed us late and we saw ISU's talent shine through and blow open a 20-point final deficit. Really, though, we're sitting pretty good with a 4-2 record and our only two losses being to P5 teams (including an Illinois team we led at halftime). Wish we could have that Illinois game back.

I was concerned with how this team would respond without LA and thus far am impressed. Miller has emerged as a reliable scorer and we know what Dex is capable of inside. I'm eager to see where we're sitting once the conference season rolls around. Get some consistency and we could have a FOURTH STRAIGHT 20-win season, which is insane for a mid/low-major team.

Tough loss but all in all we're sitting pretty good.

A loss is a loss, but it was 52-50 with 12:06 left which at least made for an interesting majority of the game.

I don't get everyone chalking this up to being young....seriously, of the guys who played meaningful minutes tonight(more than 10 minutes) ONE is a true freshman, and three are sophomores with two of them having a full year of playing already, including an NCAA tourney game...you can't possibly consider that young and inexperienced...this was a 20 point loss. I don't care if it was close with 11 minutes left, in today's game, most teams on an average night, can hang until mid 2nd half before the blowout begins. I'm not saying this team isn't or won't be good, but lets have a little more expectations from them and stop carrying on about how good they played considering they are "young and inexperienced". We only had 12 turnovers, which is not a terrible amount, probably pretty average. They did not lose the game due to turnovers from inexperience. Iowa State shot terrible from 3, so imagine if they would have had a normal night from there...looks like we shot bad from there too, but so far this season we have.
I don't see the silver lining in a 20 point loss, even to a top 5 team(who by the way, is almost certainly not, Iowa State is typically overrated, i think the NCAA tourney has proved that).
Just my two cents, please flame away, i'm sure it's coming.

Just imagine how bad it would've been had ISU played with as much intensity as they do when KU comes to town. It was intriguing for 75% of the game...but when ISU wanted to, they put up a 20 pt lead fairly easily. And theyre never gonna miss that many first half 3s.

inspiring effort..but Im not gonna take away any positives or negatives.

Just not a good match up, overrated or whatever but ISU has length for days. Dex had no shot to do much, offensively it was all on AJ and Paul which is a lot of burden to put on them. Carlin had a good first half but then fell apart....Khy was just overmatched but he is a true freshman.

This is a game where I think Gue would have helped but I am glad he is taking a year to get better.

Did Dex really get a chance to establish himself?

Not a terrible game. Certainly some great positives to take away. Kory Brown was missed big time and we need everybody when we play a top 5 team. Wish we hadn't peed down our leg late because the final score is deceiving. Should help us get ready for conference play.

He had his chances, just couldn't handle ISU's length. Their big guy killed us but in fairness to Dex he killed everyone Richman put out there.
