Really depends on the recruit. Overall, no more than a win would have impacted us. I don't think any recruit is going to make their decision on one game. More to do with what they want.
Are they talented enough to play for a Championship program? Will they start there? Or will they be buried in the depth charts? Kids know where these two programs are at, and until they are on a more level playing field, recruiting will continue to favor NDSU; not in every case but in most. There are other factors some kids will look at too, educational programs, campus, etc.
Overall NDSU will certainly hold a recruiting advantage. I don't know much about the rivalry in the few years leading up to 03 when I was a Freshman, but I have to imagine they were fairly even. Worst thing UND could do for their program, recruiting, competitiveness was not go D1 at the same time as NDSU. Credit where credit is due, NDSU made the most of their transition and has dominated more than any team can expect. To do what the Bison have done is beyond impressive.
