I actually enjoyed the article. I started at UND in '03, just in time to catch the end of the rivalry. Didn't know about all of stealing of the trophy.

To the people who say that this is just another game; I both agree and disagree with that statement. It is just another game because it is the next game. A game that the Bison need to win. A game that we need to have a game plan and execute it; that is how the coaches and players will look at it as well. But I dare any of you to say that it is just another game when the lights go out and Thunderstruck starts playing. Or right before kickoff and you see a und football team on the field ready to play the Bison. Every memorey of past games from the Fargodome, the Alerus, Memorial Stadium, and Dakotah Field will come back to you. You will remember why you hate und and want to kick their ass back to Grand Forks. Sure there is media hype as expected, but there is well deserved hype from fans too. I gaurantee that on the first possession for the UND offense, it will be loudest the dome has been EVER for a football game. I get goosebumps just thinking about it. It's going to awesome!!

Someone correct me, but every time I talk Bison vs. The Fighting Who, they bring up hockey. How is that going the last 10-15 years?

Absolutely! That kid was a beast! Also, Shakir Bell from Indiana St. was special.

Shakir Bell... definately. When Travis Beck says he was the toughest player he's ever had to tackle, you know the guy was special.

Why did the forum not ask in the article why UND feels they have the right to claim sole ownership of the Nickle if it has been determined it will no longer be used as a traveling trophy. Seems like a pretty logical question to ask especially in that article.

Article wasn't bad and I loved the stealing stories when I was at NDSU but it's the "secret location" and security and the "Hey, look at the IPF!"... put it in the heritage center and be done with it. If anyone from UND wants to steal one of the real trophies, they're in the Fargodome football offices proudly on display at all times.

One of my fraternity brothers (RIP, Randy) stole it from UND in the early/mid 80's. He got a geiger counter from NDSU and told UND staffers he was from UND and wanted to check the Nickel for radioactivity. He brought it back to Fargo, and he got interviewed by Jim Adelson in a dark room just showing his profile.
