I am fairly familiar with the NDSU UN_ football "rivalry". My father took me to NDSU football games when I was a kid (so since late 70's) and we have been going ever since. This game might have meant a lot during the D2 era...but honestly not so much anymore.

Also, even when I was younger I noticed an element of ugliness to this "rivalry" that I never really cared for.

So, I guess if vitriolic behavior, ugliness, smack/bull shit talking, and fans acting in general like jack asses toward each other is "great for the state of North Dakota" then let's definitely play this game every year.

I have heard "good for the State" many times this week and it is always from a UN_ person. Here goes the conversation:
UN_ person: "I am so happy this game is getting played, it is great for the State"
Me: " If it is so great for the State why did UN_ quit played NDSU then"?
UN_ person: "Cant you guys ever get over that and just move on"?
Me: "We moved on without you and now you are trying to get back with us. Also when will you move on from your old nickname and pick a new one"?
Un_ person: "We will always be the Fighting Sioux"
