^^^these^^^ are all very good points. But it was an over the top asshole thing to do at a time when our leaders needed a little less criticism. Ed Shultz was just as terrible.

It shows to make a program as successful as the Bison, you need leaders with vision and fortitude to take a lot of shit.

Looking back, going to FCS was a no-brainer, but at the time it was made out to be too out of reach.

I'm not certain the powers that be are that much different. They are still followers, not leaders...look at COA. If they could have stopped us from doing it, would they have?

Who are They? I believe the THEY you are talking about no longer have anything to do with the University. I am in my 50's now, have many friends from both schools. Most, (not all) of the guys I know who went to UND AGREE that what their ADMIN did back then was a mistake! I joke with some of my friends that went to UND...Your not a bad guy considering where you went to school etc...I know Bubba, good guy!....Like I said before, my beef is with SOME of their fans...and we have fans like that too!

It should not be news anywhere because it should not occur. it simply bad form and well they are no longer the SIOUX. If you want to insult them, I mean realty insult them dont refer them as the sioux as keeping that name seems to be what the care about most.

It will occur though....and it will be irrelevant to all eyes outside of this local area (and possibly outside of an occasional editorial, widely ignored by people IN the local area too).

SSS does not get under their skin at all, but refusing to call them the sioux sure does. A better chant would be WHO SS or what seems to be even better.... Sundogs SS. I believe a fighting sundog chant caused one knucklehead to get so enraged he was escorted out of a WF bar last weekend,
