It IS a trap. They've been planning this week all along, deep down in the bunker, since 2003 (or earlier). Roger Thomas is the brilliant mastermind behind it. The planning that has went into it is just amazing!

Here is a stolen copy of Roger's secret specific instructions:

1. Don't play the Bison............ until Bubba comes back.
2. Fight with the NCAA and get them to ban our nickname, so that NDSU doesn't know which nickname to do the "suck chant" to.
3. Let them win 4 straight national titles to become overconfident.
4. Make our own football team look as bad as they can in the years leading up to "The Game". (Note: a guy by the name of Mussman can help with that.)
5. Send down a poster to engage in "serious" and "respectful" banter the week before the game. (Don't worry, they'll fall for it.)
6. Go into the Fargo Dome and kick some Bison ass.

Winner. Not to mention how opposing fans trash each other year-round regardless of sport that is involved. It may not be healthy, but it's definitely a rivalry that stands above all the rest.

Finally, some clarity! You see, if they can't get their crap together enough to give us a new nickname to chant to, and they continue to wear and use the sue name in perpetuity, then how are we to know whioux sucks when we chant?

This is all an evil plot to put us in a Catch-22 regarding the "suck chant" and take away our 4-time national champion mojo. That Bubba.................he's effin' diabolical!

Oh, and by the way, those of you that are engaging our new poster from the Hitler Board in "serious" discussion.................a word of warning: you are going to get burned. It's just a matter of time. Ask yourselves WHY he is here. It's not to engage in "serious" discussion. If that were the case, he could have been here a long time ago, no? Do what you will, but I just didn't want anyone to say they weren't warned.

That's a little harsh, but you're entitled to your opinion. Never been on here before since we have not played in so long. That being said, I guess only time will tell to see if I'm a real A-hole or not. But in that .000001% chance UND came out and smoked the bison, I'm not the guy that would be on here spouting off about how we're awesome on you guys suck. If UND were going to win, all the pieces are going to have to fall in place. Bison are a way better team on paper, but they play the game on the field, and crazier things have happened.

The rivalry is mostly ugly and stupid and some people, like me, just wish it would die.

But maybe I'm wrong. Maybe there won't be five editorials crying about the racism inherent in the Sioux Suck Shit chant on Sunday. Maybe Joel Heitkamp, the guy who thought it was his duty to turn NDSU's first DI national champion into a week-long orgy of victimhood on behalf of UND folks, won't join in that PC mob.

Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what every UND game was like at the end of the rivalry.

Not in every case. FSU/UF, Clemson/SC etc survive as non conference games as end of the year matchups. And for those rivalries the non conference aspect makes them even more intense because the rivalry lives outside of the binds of a conference

True, and maybe if both team were competitive annually that could happen, but to this point only one of us has been competitive at the D1 level. Now, if UND ever gets their act together, or if the UND NDSU rivalry was renewed through a playoff meeting or two, then we might have a different discussion.

Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to the game, mostly because I only got to see one game as a fan my freshman year in '03. Also because I have a lot of friends and family who are Bison fans, so I have probably seen as many, if not more, Bison games over the past several year, as I have UND games.

Do you notice that it is one siouxfan512 poster that has all the posts on this thread with some bisonvillers constantly responding. It's just a few people responding and amped up, heck it is already Tuesday of the big week and I think it is pretty quiet.

Where would we even host gameday? Downtown Grand Forks? A windy parking lot off I-29? It would such a terrible experience!! Would love the national exposure, but it would be terrible! Fargo has done a great job with gameday the past 2 years.
