For the record this is NOT me bringing up hockey. I don't think it would be out of the question. We schedule home and home series with Bemidji St. Plus there are more games in a season for hockey, so more opportunity to schedule away games.

Pretty cool that you guys scheduled Orgeon, that is really big time. Hope you guys have a competitive showing in the game, for real. I don't care who your are, you have a close game (as a FCS team) against Oregon, I'll pull for ya. Pretty badass if you can schedule and hang with a team like that.

    You lost me at "hockey"....

Agreed. Say UN_ even plays us close this week, but wins like 4 or 5 games this year and we have another deep playoff run. Nobody's going to care about the game except for the moral victory people and who cares? I get people's arguments, but I think the hand wringing is a bet unwarranted.

Yeah. How dare a new person want to discuss things on here? It's much better when it's the same people that always post.

Right, rivalries are fun because of heated fan bases. But when the rivalry is a non-conference game, there is just so much less at stake. UND could win, which would be huge ... then have a terrible season. or NDSU could smoke UND, but then lose to Illinois St or Indiana St (not sure what your schedule is this year). Point is, the rivalry would carry more meaningful weight if it was a conference game. As it is, it is just fun game for fans, not too much more.

That being said, still more for us to gain and NDSU to lose, purely because of where both programs are currently.

Exactly. I get where people are coming from with us having everything to lose and I kinda feel the same way, but you'd think we're guaranteed to lose every recruiting battle just because the game is being played.

This is the only sensible thing you have said in this entire thread, cannot wait for this useless game to be over and for the fighting squirrels to return to their rightful place of obscurity. Sioux suck.

You are right. So wrong of me to give him a bad time. How terrible it must be for others to put up with die hard fans of this football team. I apologize. I only hope that in the future I can be as good a fan as you. I will not believe in my team. I will always allow others to tell us how we are wrong, irrelevant, undeserving or lucky. I will never point out flaws in their arguments or unquestionably accept their motivations .
