The easy answer: there’s a time and place for it. It’s another tool in the tool box. It’s important to note that ligaments are like plastic, once they’re stretched they can’t go back. Muscles and tendons are like elastic, they can rebound back to their original state (as long as they aren’t completely ruptured and need surgery, obviously). So will yoga directly make an impact on a ligament? Probably not on the ligament itself. Where it helps the most is with overall joint and muscle mobility/flexibility and proprioception (awareness and position of the body in space). The more flexible someone is, the less likely they are to be injured. Also, with improved proprioception maybe the body is able to keep itself out of a vulnerable position. Bottom line is non-contact injuries (which a majority of ACL injuries are, I’m not sure if Seth’s was contact or non-contact) are freak injuries and can be hard to prevent.
