Were there other events going on that would have prevented students from showing up?

The lack of loyalty is a generational character issue as well though. It has always existed but I think it is worse. My generation is easily more self-loving and disloyal than those above us. This is obviously a generalization with plenty of exceptions. I love seeing a little kid that pulls for a team even when they are bad. I can properly guess certain things about their character and future based on something so simple
Many thousands are in want of common necessaries; hundreds of thousands are in want of common comforts, sir."
Scrooge-"Are there no prisons?". "Plenty of prisons..."
Scrooge-"And the Union workhouses." . "Are they still in operation?". "Both very busy, sir..."
"Those who are badly off must go there."
"Many can't go there; and many would rather die."
Scrooge- "If they would rather die," "they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population."
I'm sure the student section will be full for the SDSU game.
I think that is over stating it a bit. Little kids cheer for teams often because their parents do. People need to find there way a bit and it really doesn't matter whom you cheer for. I guess my point is that this is a really really cool time to be an NDSU football fan, or any type of football fan in Fargo because it is being played well. Winning championships involve mix of talent and luck. Unfortunately people don't understand what they have until it is gone.
The weather in Fargo keeps the undesirables out.....
...Which is why I live near the Twin Cities.
