Montana, Montana State, NDSU, UNI (maybe) should be looking as a 4 PACk to join a FBS conference, now.

    That is all

FBS/FCS could be dead soon if the conference shuffling keeps up. we could be talking about a 3-tier division I in the near future.

DI-A: Big 10, ACC, PAC 10, SEC, Big East, MWC, Big 12 (if it still exists)
DI-AA: MVC, CAA, Sunbelt, WAC (if it still exists), Southern, CUSA
    DI-AAA: the rest

So you think the MAC would jump from the top to the bottom or did you overlook them? I think they would be in the middle group if something like this happens and I believe the Big Sky would have a decent shot at it as well. I also think the MWC would be in the middle group and the top schools in that conference would move up to one of the top groups. One speculation I heard was the top group would end up being 4 conferences of 16 teams (64 total) and the rest would be together in the next tier.

    Here is my list:
DI-A: Big 10, ACC, PAC 10, SEC, Big East, Big 12, top teams from MWC join one of these
DI-AA: MVFC, CAA, Sunbelt, Southern CUSA, WAC, bottom teams from MWC and top teams from Big Sky join one of these
    DI-AAA: the rest

This would be great for NDSU. I've always felt we can compete with anybody except the best of the best (USC, Florida, Ohio State, etc.) If this new IAA had 85 schollies we'd really be tough.

Forgot the MAC in your list. Somehow the DI-AA grouping should have a minimum average attendance of like 10,000 to get those little guys with red turf, etc., out of there. It should feel like bigger level football, not like what many teams are in DI-AA football now.

Maybe the new DI-AA should have 74 scholies to have its own level:

    DI-A: 85 scholarships, 20,000 minimum average attendance
    DI-AA: 74 scholarships, 10,000 minimum average attendance
    DI-AAA: 63 scholarships

True. 4000 for a quarterfinal is unacceptable at this level.

Well, it appears we have gotten over the "crooked refs" issue in less time then anticipated, not that there is anything wrong with that!

that empty feeling everybody had from the loss has been filled with the hope and prospect of what this team can and will do next season.
