    Default Verbal Commitments

I'll just post them as I find them:

NDSU got a commitment from Nick Jackson from Cleveland, Ohio. Coach Babich must have been doing some recruiting when he went back to PA.

Anyway, the numbers are: *6-1, 185, 1,900 yards passing, 400 yards rushing.

    Bryan Lanzy, Cretin-Derham Hall, 6'3 220, TE.

Second-team all-state in Minnesota. He also ran the ball a bit, 7 times for 138 yards and 3 TDs (!!!) according to Star Tribune. Threw discus, high jumped, triple jumped, and ran the occasional long sprint in track.

NDSU has made offers to two players and are currently in a decent position to land them ( at least no other DII team is going to get them).

The two players are Rich Majeski (the Star Tribune's Metro and the AP State player of the year) and Marcus Fitzgerald from Holy Angels. Now, if Rich really wants to go DI-A, I hope that he gets his offer. Wyoming is going to be sniffing around him so he might get one this weekend.

John Majeski was the key player for Hastings State Championship team in 2001, and Quarter-final finish in 2002. He was the key Running Back, also would line-up as a Receiver, and even threw a TD pass. He also played Defensive Back, Place Kicker, Punter, Kick Returner, Punt Returner. Played pretty much every play. He has D-I talent. Fitzgerald has a brother Larry that is a great receiver for the Pitt Panther. Marcus is an excellant player too.

Man, NDSU is seriously hitting the road this year. They're going after Adrian Herry from Illinois. He's another guy, like Majeski and Fitzgerald, that NDSU is trying to wrestle away from a DI-A football school.

A little blurb about it here

No hard numbers on him, but he's a defensive end/OLB and he plays basketball too.

I found another story that said he was coming up for a visit this weekend.

I think being able to mention D1AA to Chicago area recuits opens the door. You could have flashed all seven D2 rings in his face and he would not have been impressed. Good luck to the Bison in this years recruiting class. It looks like your program is on its way back. The comeback starts with some *great recruiting choices. *I just hope we don't back to the days where the SDSU-NDSU game was over by half time. >

More news on another possible big transfer. This past weekend...Dominique Sims...safety from the U of M...was on campus. Many may remember that name. He played at DeLaSalle in the Cities...and was the Minnesota player of the year. Was suppose to be a huge recruit for the Gophers. Apparently is looking to transfer...and is supposedly very interested in the Bison.

It's been a quiet recruting year so far. Suppose NDSU is saving four scholarships for Sims, Herry, Majeski, and Fitzgerald, it's possible that they won't get any of them. Since last year's recruting class was so deep, they can probably afford to take a gamble like that.
