    WE NEED A QB BAD!!!!

AJ would be nice to get but i would take the kid from wisconsin also. You have to have some talent to throw for 2200 yards, I dont care if it is high school. My QB in high school couldnt throw a ball to save his life.

How can you say "WE NEED A QB BAD" without ever having seen anyone but basically Mertens in action.

Unless you have access to practice, we have never seen Fabry, Mohler, and barely Jackson play.

You can watch practice through the fence right?? Jackson got into some games right??

I can say we need one bad because we need to start preparing QB's. We have a FBS transfer in Fabry, I dont think alot of people know alot about, if you do enlighten us, I mean that in all seriousnes, I dont know alot about him so even a PM would be nice. I said that because over the past 3 years we have not recruited one and it kinda bit us in the ass. We need one to start preparing for the future if things like last year ever happen again. Would things have gone better last year if we would have had another option with some time in the offense instead of mertens. Thats all.

This AJ W. looks like quite an athlete. His decision making impresses me and he's an accurate thrower as well. There werent a whole lot of replays where he ran, but when he did i thought he moved well. He can avoid pressure at least. It would be interesting to compare his film with Walker's HS film.

    Found this snooping around rivals.com

Says he is soft verbal, but still has interest in us.

What do you want me to say? What I am wondering is how you can look at this one game video and be impressed.
I wasn't all that impressed either, then I looked at the video a second time. I wonder if it is a highlight video put together by the winning team. (Not very often does the losing team put together a video.) The plays are mostly just the scores by BJ's team and the good plays and scores and some pre/post games stuff for the other team. I'm guessing the video wasn't looking to sumarize BJ's good plays. If I'm right, that gives a little more hope. When a QB throws for over 300 yards in a game (has 4 games over 250) and his team is only about a .500 team....I figure he must have some talent. We need a better video.

Good point bisondad. NDSU needs a QB with skills, but even more so one that can execute to convert that 3rd down play, get that TD in the closing minutes of the game.......i.e. put the team in a position to win.

Does this mean that Varmah Sonie is still up for graps? I know there was some talk about him and Bryce McNeal going to Minnesota if Sonie got an offer.

I think he has always been up for grabs to FCS schools because I think he envisioned himself as a FBS player, as evidenced by his list of schools he is interested in:

    http://hsminnesota.scout.com/a.z?s=3...=1&nid=3657827

He is not even listed on MinnesotaPreps.rivals. However, MinnesotaScout did an article on him and it almost appears that only UNI has shown interest although NDSU mentioned at the end because of his brother:

    http://minnesota.scout.com/2/824556.html

I don't know if NDSU has shown interest or not.
