Big XII has a do or die decision.....be proactive and poach teams before the other conferences do, or die. Their track record isn't good, they've been tentative in the past, so the fear is the latter. Ironically, NDSU and K-State are in the same position. Land grant universities with a lame duck president. Not ideal.

A few years ago when TX and OU threatened to move to the PAC XII, the word was that the Oklahoma legislature wouldn't let OU go anywhere without OSU tagging along. That isn't the case. They have 2 separate Boards of Regents and the state legislature has no say. t's always been said KU and KSU have to move together according to the legislature, but I doubt that has any teeth when push comes to shove.

When these reports about OU and TX come out now, it's going to happen. Especially, since it's reported that OU and TX hired law firms to handle the foreplay part with the SEC. K-State folks here are seriously worried. KU is in the same boat except they're in a boat that's been taking on water for years.....new FB coach, AD just got fired, weird crap with paying a player to leave the program, the list goes on.

Best case, the Big XII pushes hard for Nebraska first. I that miraculously happens, then maybe Cincy, Houston, Memphis, Colorado State, BYU??, Utah???, etc. IMO, too many miracles need to happen. Nobody thinks WVU is part of the Big XII's long-term plan, so they would need to be replaced now, as well.
North Dakota State, a football team the big boys of college football should avoid like the plague, helped christen a $90 million renovation to Snyder Family Stadium — including a statue of famed Kansas State coach Bill Snyder himself — by taking a sledgehammer to the place.

Not sure how many schools want to jump on that sinking boat. I don't even know if I want NDSU on that boat even though wrestling is technically. Could it have future ramifications for wrestling??

Going to take a lot a maneuvering to not end up with big 12 imploding. Huskers saw the writing on the wall and jumped ship long ago.

    Nebraska just belongs B12. I mean, c’mon.

There is nowhere for the Big 12 to lose other schools to, who would want them? Taking BYU and UCF Houston and Cincinatti from the AAC leaves it as a high major basketball conference and about as good as the Pac-12 in football. That leaves the AAC with 8 football schools.

Adding Houston solidifies their Texas foothold, Cinci is a huge school near WVU, BYU has big money and reach, UCF is in Florida

The Big 12 could replace Texas and Oklahoma with NDSU and SDSU.

I thought the problem with byu and major conferences is the Sunday issue. Byu being a scheduling nightmare for non-football sports isn't worth it and isn't fair for big revenue sports like basketball as everyone else is doing it but they won't.

Too me this is very dumb on both schools part. Neither would probably make the four team playoff now and honestly would struggle if it was an 8 team playoff if they were in the SEC. I suppose with the proposed 12 team playoff they would have a chance to make it in the SEC. If they stayed in the BIG 12 Oklahoma would be in every year. I mean they should be pushing the BIG 12 to add 2 more teams. They would still be the biggest fish in the pond then and still dominate. Push to make the BIG 12 a 16 team conference as we are headed to 4 16 team conferences anyway, but remain the biggest fish in the pond. I mean Oklahoma is part of like 5 teams that have been in the 4 team Playoff the most by far.
    If it flies it dies.

Long for the days of freezing in the south stands of Dacotah Field.

I feel it's less about what the playoffs are today and more about leaving the ncaa to go fuck themselves in 5-10 years. P4 going bye-bye
