In the summit though for basketball they would have to travel to two schools a week if one of them is way out of the footprint makes for an expensive long weekend. For NDSU probably isn't a big deal if they feel they're getting something in return, a stronger conference. Other less well to do schools might not share the same sentiment.

Same reason we've all been wondering why BSC has hung with UN_. If Idaho does go back to FCS football in bsc, wonder what that does to UN_?

Good for the retention of Denver in the league

They already have conference affiliation for everything but football. Right?

You think they would leave the WAC for the Summit? I guess Denver did but I don't see it.

They may be forced to leave the WAC, but who knows to where?. There is concern Chicago State will shut their doors, Grand Canyon and Seattle want in on one of those California leagues real bad, and UT-Rio Grande might be looking at football, so who knows where that will lead as far as conference affiliation. UMKC might see all this and come crawling back to the Summit, hoping to be let back in. Or maybe nothing will happen, and the WAC survives and NMSU somehow holds on to FBS football. I never thought ORU would come back to the Summit, but they did.

What's so great about the WAC, that conference is not going to sustain

You might be correct but the Summit isn't exactly the picture of stability either.

The Summit is waaaaaaay more stable than the WAC.

WAC membership is an absolute disaster, shouldn't even be in the same conversation as the Summit.

Summit will be around longer than the WAC, retaining Denver is a key all this IMO

okay. What does the Summit do for their football program? See, that's the problem they face in getting tossed from the Sun Belt. Everybody here is suddenly going all "Sioux Volley" dreaming up stuff that has nothing to do with what's going on in the Sun Belt. Carry on.
