The Search Mess in Wyoming.....

If you are still following this disasterous process at the University of Wyoming......here is the latest installment from the Casper Star-Tribune....

LARAMIE -- Former University of Wyoming President Philip L. Dubois pronounced the search for his successor "a mess" Wednesday, and Gov. Dave Freudenthal said the UW trustees should start the process all over again.

I spent twenty minutes yesterday reading stories from Laramie, Jackson Hole, and elsewhere.


IMO every trustee in Wyoming should lose their position as they obviously know nothing about higher education. For those of you not in the loop it is almost always about 'process'.

The process in Wyoming was/is a joke.

We can all pretend that Chapman changed his mind because of the students, and I'm sure that's true to some extent. But I'm fairly confident the primary reason was the stupidity of the trustees and the flawed selection process.

Joe was flattered by Wyoming's interest but he was humbled by the support from NDSU. Those two responses tell you a great deal about him as a person. In addition the Wyoming deal turned out to be a three ring circus, making it a far easier decision for he and his family. *
