I was down at the Horizon building on the Microsoft campus this morning and they got their bison sculpture early to align with their 5-year anniversary being with MS:

"The bison on our campus was designed by Arion Poitra and David Swenson. Arion is a student at NDSU and David is one of his instructors. The Microsoft bison is intended to be a piece that evolves over time and is directly connected to the environment in a number of ways. Both the base that it sits on and the wire construct that encases it are intended to take on a rich patina over time as they oxidize (rust). The oxidation of the wire construct will also express on to the white bison—causing the bison itself to take on its own ever changing patina through time. In addition, the solar panel will supply the power to light the sculpture in the evenings from within. After spending the summer on our campus (just west of the Horizon entry), the Microsoft bison will be donated for public display."

It looks a bit like while porcelain with several small holes in it. There is a wire outline around it about 3-5 inches from the surface.
