I hope somebody from the NCC will host. I am not looking forward to another trip to Kearney. The hotel situation was horrible. That is if SCSU makes the regional. I have to say I am suprised by the play of NDSU. I liked your team when I saw them at Halenbeck but this is a suprise. Good luck this year.

scsufan....I think a lot of us are surprised too! It is great to see NDSU getting a good vote of confidence in the regional rankings. We are rated pretty high with 6 losses.

~can someone explain to me how the regional tournament works....is it just the top 4, or 8 teams in the region....does the conference tournament winner get any automatic bid or anything...I guess the conference season winner just gets to host the conference tournament and thats it....

I believe it used to be the Top 6 teams in the Region made the regional tournament with the conference tournament winners getting automatic bids.

The top seed in the tournament has the option to host but that top seed has declined due to things such as a high school tournament (Fort Hays State in 1997, I believe). That year the #2 team in SDSU hosted.

Now, I think the top 8 make it so the there are no byes for the top 2 seeds but I could be wrong. The top seed still has the option of hosting.
