    Default 2006 Recruits

Some possibilities for the 2006 recruiting class from the insiders. Clark is a 4 star player and Lochner is a 3 star. Lochner was a solid player for Maple Grove this year. He would be a nice addition to the front line. Plumb was 20+ per game for Hastings this year. Batsell-Parks is listed as being offered by the Bison.

Tyler is a 6-6, 240 lb. Jr. Also played tight end on JM's state tourney fb team. Watched him play about a dozen games this year but, for now, I don't think he's DI material. Has some very nice inside moves and soft hands but plays best with his back to the basket. A quick jumper, he blocked a lot of shots this year and can really rebound. He would need a lot of work to be a power forward. Unless he grows, he's more likely a small school center.

Where did you see Earl Clark was interested in NDSU? I checked the Rivals database and we are not even listed as a D1 school. At this time no one is going to pick NDSU over this impressive list of schools. This will take time!

This list is not from Rivals, it is from The Insiders Scout Hoops. *I am surprised that Clark is on the list too. * *

I am running through some scenarios in my head as far as recruiting is concerned, and I am curious if anyone knows how many schollies the Bison are going to have to give out for this coming year. I can't see it being more then 2, perhaps 3. They have given out 10 in the last 2 years alone, so conventional wisdom tells me the Bison have 2. If someone has a definite answer that would be great. I have some names to throw out there, some I have seen, others I haven't.

One scholarship yet to give out for the men. If a JC comes in, then he will play and hopefully Riley will redshirt. Otherwise too many people coming off scholarship at the same time, and not enough freed up for next couple years' recruiting. I really like the talent that Tim Miles and staff have put together. I ordered my season tickets for next year.

    2005-2006 scholarships
    Senior (1): Hahn
Freshmen (6): Woodside, Lunde, Moormann, Winkelman, Nelson, Riley
    Redshirts (3): Vaughn, Sussenguth, Pennick

Unsure about scholarship status; 2 of these 3 are on scholarship. Anyone know which one isn't?
    Juniors (2): Gerber, Smith
    Soph (1): Brown

    Walk-ons
    Soph (1): Obadina
One other player (Gerber, Brown, or Smith)

I think Brown is on scholarship.

I know he hasn't developed yet like Miles hoped he would have.

I would guess Gerber wuold be the other walk - on, but who knows....

I hope Gerber is a walk-on. He looks like a little kid out there. He needs to develop into a deadly 3-point shooter and a scrappy defensive player to earn playing time.

Brown could earn his scholarship if develops into a defensive and rebounding specialist. Minimal scoring would be required from him.

Smith shows signs of being a good player. He just needs to work on defensive intensity and staying within the framework of the offense (i.e. decreased turnovers and better shot selection).

Obadina is a relentless defender that should improve his discipline over time. He will need to develop some offensive skills to get more playing time on a deeper roster.
