Should have the forum sent reporters to the white house?

The Flag and the forum have been going back and forth about media coverage of the Championships team visit to the White House. The Forum and Jeff Kolpeck wrote a response detailing all the travel and coverage of the bison they do, but never state why they didn't attend the White House function. They did allude to no budget. My thought is if you can send 18-20 crew to cover the Eastern tennessee game, you can send 1 or 2 people to cover this event. In my opinion, the President aside, if you have the chance to go to the White House you go. Feedback I have heard from the parents of the two parents I know, the event was the top notch.

Did you read the Kolpack article? Jeff says exactly what it is: Budget. The travel expenses last year were much more than in years past (2019 for example, when they were also invited by Trump and they DID send media along on the trip). Additionally, WDAY and the Forum both aired and published stories on the trip, both showing imagines of Trump with a Bison jersey.

This is a local dumbfuck media guy’s (Hennen) attempt to politicize. Nothing more.

Jeff's article was pretty straightforward, no one was going to pay for it. Besides, with all the social media, you got pictures and content about it. I don't care who the president is (I actually do, but that's not for this board), these meetings are pointless from a viewers perspective but probably pretty cool from a player and coaches perspective.

The Forum article did say that their NDSU football budget was depleted. I find myself wondering if Jeff Kolpack asked Forum management if they could scrap together to few extra dollars to send someone from the Forum to attend this event. After all they do have the NDSU contract and just maybe this would be a story of interest to NDSU football fans? Seems a little disingenuous to say they didn't attend because they didn't have the budget.
