What's wrong with requiring tailgaters to be in place an hour before kickoff?

    Important Reminders
    • Be sure to arrive in your tailgate spots at least one hour before kickoff! Any unused West tailgate spots can be used for overflow parking should the East parking lot sell out on gameday.
It's OK to not be OK.

Letting it be overflow parking. You've paid for these spots...including the common area...which people can then pull up and park in. Those spots are paid for...somebody shouldn't be able to come park in them for any reason.

Also, good luck even getting to those spots, especially in the early season games where driving areas between the parking spots are packed with fans moving about. LOL, the area where students hang out and wait in line for porta johns will be impassable! Who the heck is making these stupid decisions at NDSU and Fargodome?

IF this was a driving factor for this decisions that would be one of the laziest solutions to a "problem" you could have.

So you're telling me the consumer doesn't like our product enough to buy more of it? Well let's force them to buy all or nothing!!

OR you know, you could take a look at the product that is tailgating and see where you could create more value to the consumer.

Reduce reserved spots to a smaller area that makes sense to what you can actually sell, create some incentive to reserve the whole season, or even simply use the starved for content media outlet you have in your direct geo area to feed them free marketing content on your behalf by sharing press releases and article worthy info.

My biggest argument against using the tailgating lots as parking starting one hour before the game is you are knowingly allowing/encouraging traffic in an area that for the last 4-5 hours has been traffic free with thousands of people freely wondering and walking around.

It has pissed off our entire group the last few years watching the traffic start to flow into a tailgating lot that should be closed off almost running into/over kids, causing crowds to have to disperse or move out of the way of these late comers.

A few years ago someone who came in late just to park literally ran over one of our kids feet. Not only that when everyone yelled at the driving to get his attention he stopped his vehicle ON TOP of the kids foot.

Stupid on every level to me.

If this move is being done to save costs related to the parking lots maybe NDSU and the Fargodome should reduce the amount of security present at every game in the parking lot. Seriously, most prisons have less manpower patrolling the same area. All FBS games and most of the away FCS games I have attended have at least 50% less staff security and police in the tailgate areas!

Probably true on prison security Super Dave but, they're only working with convicted felons and not the criminal element fans like yourself.

Exactly. Makes zero sense to make this move

Folks, maybe you are doing this, but please share your feedback with NDSU. This is the type of change I have a feeling if they get enough push back, they will rectify.

    Thank you.

The email you had me send resulted in a 45 minute conversation with Fargo PD.
